For Our Producers,
For Our Planet.

A Conservation Agriculture Organization Advancing Fair, Practical Solutions in Rural America

Farmers and ranchers play a vital role in improving soil health, water quality, and climate resilience. Current programs often don’t reflect the full public value of this stewardship. Rural Investment to Protect Our Environment (RIPE) is working toward a future in which soil health and renewable energy adoption are rewarded.

Our work strengthens rural communities, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and expands access to conservation practices on working lands through programs built with producers, for producers.

  • Our Vision

is for ag producers & communities to benefit from a system that aligns economic incentives with conservation practices which enhance our soil, water and climate.

  • Our Mission

is to advance a fair value for voluntary agricultural stewardship.

  • Our Goal

is to grow the implementation of regenerative agriculture and renewable energy on farms for the benefit of our planet and our country's producers.

Meeting Producers Where They Are

Our approach is guided directly by farmers, ranchers, commodity groups, and rural leaders across the country. Their lived experience informs every step of our work, from designing policy to shaping practical, scalable solutions for conservation agriculture and renewable energy adoption on American farms and ranches.

We focus on:

  • Soil health and conservation practices that increase land productivity.

  • Climate-smart, regenerative agriculture that reduces emissions and enhances long-term resilience.

  • Renewable energy on farmland that reduces operational costs for producers and supports energy independence for rural communities without compromising productive land.

  • Accessible, voluntary conservation programs that reward stewardship without adding red tape.

By financially and operationally de-risking the adoption of regenerative practices, we help producers continue to do what they do best:

feed the nation while caring for the land.

Producer-Led. Research-Backed. Bipartisan.

Our coalition span diverse states, commodities, and perspectives. This breadth of voices ensures RIPE’s proposals are workable on real farms and appealing across the spectrum. Our Board of Directors is majority-producer, representing a wide range of operation sizes and geographies.

This producer-led structure allows us to build conservation programs that funders can trust: grounded in evidence, strengthened by lived experience, and shaped through genuine rural collaboration.

  • Bipartisan. Practical. Scalable.

RIPE’s policy approach is built on bipartisan collaboration and practical solutions that work across American agriculture. We develop scalable conservation policies designed to support producers of all sizes, commodity types, and regions — ensuring regenerative agriculture remains accessible, inclusive, and grounded in real-world farming and ranching experience.

  • Understanding U.S. Agricultural Policy

Today, conservation programs within the Farm Bill play an important role in supporting soil health, water quality, and climate-smart agriculture. RIPE contributes to these ongoing policy conversations by developing practical, producer-informed proposals designed to support regenerative agriculture and voluntary conservation adoption at scale.

  • Connecting Policy, Research, and Producers

RIPE’s policy work is shaped through collaboration with producers, agricultural leaders, and researchers across the country. Guidance from our Steering Committee ensures our priorities reflect the realities of working farms and ranches, while our ecosystem services research helps support science-based, effective conservation policy development.
